Georgetown holds university agreements with some of the most prestigious universities in Madrid, Spain: the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and the Universidad Pontificia Comillas. Only Georgetown University students are eligible to participate on this program.
The program is a member of the Association of North American programs in Spain.

An initiative to promote interaction between the GU Alumni Club members in Madrid and program participants. Activities include institutional visits and social events helping students network and understand international work experiences (Info under ALUMNI).

All students are required to participate in a number of workshops offered throughout the semester. Spanish mentors and host families are invited to these as well.
Students that want to further develop their intercultural skills may participate in the semester long tutorial where learning outcomes can be seen through the IDI test results.
The program offers students a personalized tutorial to improve their written and oral performance in class throughout the semester.
In addition, those students wanting to take the SIELE exam (Spanish Language Diploma) will receive program support with specialized tutorials to prepare for this certificate.
